Three in a Row for the Thomas Mallon 🥇🏆

7th Jun 2024

Today, we once again came together with our local schools, Cloughoge and Meigh PS to celebrate the great Thomas Mallon by taking part in the tournament named after him. Thomas Mallon was a former principal of Killean, an important part in the history of our school and such a big part of the local community.

It was important today, that we as a school community followed in his footsteps, by celebrating each and every child playing here today and that we encourage them to keep developing their skills and their love for Gaelic football.

Today the boys and girls from St Michael's PS, Killean were victorious again, allowing the Thomas Mallon Cup to stay in our school for the third year in a row. This was all down to the incredible talent showed across both our Killean teams. Everyone of them played their part and were amazing. They gave it their all and done not only their school and the staff proud but also themselves.

Well done to the other schools, Cloughoge and Meigh, they were brilliant opponents today and didn't make it easy for the Killean teams.

Today would not have been possible without all the hard work from the Mallon family and the volunteers from Killeavy GAA. We are so thankful for being able to take part in this special day each year. It was a great day for all involved and the children loved every minute of it. We would also like to thank all the parents who came to support the children and the school today and for Aileen, our Gaelic coach, who has been teaching the boys and girls their skills throughout the year. We appreciate the roaring support and we are so glad you could share this victory with us today.

Well done again to all the boys and girls today! We are so proud of you all!!
