Open Day - St Paul's
Message from St Paul's
On Saturday 2nd December, St. Paul’s will host its Open Day and we are very excited to once again welcome all the children from our feeder Primary Schools, along with their families to view their potential new school.
This year we want to enhance our Open Day event, and make it inclusive to all students and their families. We wanted to reach out to you so you can pass on this information to your parents and pupils ahead of Saturday.
Our school is fully accessible for anyone with mobility challenges, indeed we have a number of students who use wheel chairs to move around the building on a day to day basis therefore please be assured everyone can view the school.
We would also like your parents and pupils to know we are supporting Neurodiversity on the day, with some simple adjustments.
We will have a “quiet entrance”, which will be away from the busy centre at the front of the school. Anyone who would like to avail of this, should go to the back of the Technology Block and look for the signage for the ‘Maroon Entrance’. Here you will be greeted, and given a sensory sensitive school tour experience.
We are encouraging parents and pupils to bring along their sensory support tools. We will have some ear defenders available for anyone who would like to borrow them, or make use of them around school.
Our current pupils, will act as guides for Open Day, this will include students from our DEN and Nurture provisions. We will have a number of guides who are Neurodiversity Ambassadors, they will be wearing a blue ambassador badge. All of our guides will provide opportunities to take breaks, as and when necessary.
The children of St Michael's Primary School, Killean are invitied to attend on the day from 11am to 12.30pm.
