Magennis, Magill, McKeever and MAGUIRE!!!!
On Monday we received a very special visit to the school from the Sam Maguire and two of Armagh's All-Ireland winning squad, Shea Magill and Conor Magennis, management member, Ciaran McKeever and Aileen Magennis, Armagh GAA County Board, School Coach.
The school covered in orange and white and full of anticipation and excitement welcomed SAM in with a rendition of the Boys from County Armagh, The Armagh Bus is Coming and some of our Irish dancers performed also. The children got to ask many questions and received very valuable advice about training, what to eat before games and whether black was luckier than orange.
Each class got to take a picture with SAM, Shea, Conor, Ciaran and Aileen before the players generously gave up their time to answer more questions and sign some jerseys. Such a momentous occasion for our school and an experience that will never be forgotten by our pupils, the staff and even those Down supporters who reside in St Michael's P.S, Killean.
Throughout the day, we continued the celebrations with a visit from the ice cream van and Armagh Ladies' superstar, Aimee Mackin came in to take some Gaelic sessions also.
We just like to again extend our thanks to Shea, Conor, Ciaran and Aileen for their visit and taking the time to share their experience of Armagh bringing the SAM home. Ard Mhacha Abú!!!
