Return to school update 6/1/22

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I hope you had an enjoyable and safe Christmas and a happy new year. As the new school term begins tomorrow, we are facing unprecedented times. There are record numbers of Covid cases globally, and with the transmissibility of the Omicron variant being so high, we must do our utmost to keep everyone in our community safe. We have always put the whole community first, please remember everyone has somebody vulnerable belonging to them and not every vulnerability is visible. Please bear this in mind.

Please follow the following guidance before returning to school.

- Take a Lateral flow test on 6/1/22 before coming to school - If it is positive or suspected positive (the second line may only be faint) book a PCR test and self-isolate - If your child displays any symptoms (headache, cough, runny nose, sore stomach etc.) or feels generally unwell, keep them off from school and book a PCR test. - If your child tests positive, please inform the school. Day 1 is from the day of their test. They may only return to school 11 days after their positive test. - Ensure your child regularly washes/sanitises their hands. - If you suspect there may be a positive case in your household, please keep your child off from school until you receive confirmation that the case is negative. - If there is a positive case within your household, please keep your child off from school until the isolation period is over. - If your child is already isolating, please email cmcateer838@c2kni.net and inform me of their return date. - Wear a face covering at all times on school property.

Please be assured that we are doing our utmost to minimise disruption to your child’s learning.  However, we must at all times prioritise the health and wellbeing of the whole school community.  The next few weeks are going to be extremely challenging.
